Is online notarization legal?
Yes! Online notarization is fully legal. With advancements in technology, many states—including Florida—recognize the validity of online notarization. It allows me to notarize your documents remotely through secure video conferencing and electronic signature technology.
Is online notarization accepted everywhere?
Yes. Online notarization is widely accepted and recognized as a legitimate form of notarization. It’s especially convenient for clients who can’t appear in person or live outside the U.S.
How much does online notarization cost?
My pricing is structured to fit your specific needs:
1 Signer, 1 Stamp: $25
Additional Stamps: $10 each
Additional Signers: $10 each
Witness Provided by Notary: $25 each
Example: If you have one signer and two notarizations, your total would be $35. If I provide a witness, it would be $60. You only pay for what you need—making online notarization flexible and cost-effective.
How does online notarization work?
It’s simple and secure:
Email Your Document: Send the document that needs notarization to me for review.
Document Review: I’ll check to ensure it’s complete and ready for notarization.
Schedule Your Session: I’ll email you a link to join the online session, along with an invoice.
Verify Your Identity: You’ll confirm your identity by presenting your ID and answering brief security questions.
Join the Virtual Room: We’ll connect by webcam—you’ll see me and your document on screen.
Sign & Notarize: You’ll sign electronically in my presence, and I’ll notarize your document in real time.
Receive Your Document: Once complete, your notarized document will be emailed to you immediately.
What devices can I use?
You can use a laptop, computer, iPad, or smartphone. For the best experience, I recommend using Google Chrome.
Do I have to use a computer?
No. You can use your smartphone or tablet as long as it has a camera, microphone, and reliable internet connection.
Can signers be in different locations?
Yes! Online notarization works perfectly even if signers are in separate places—or even different countries. Both parties can join the same online session remotely.
My document requires witnesses. Can they join online too?
Yes. Up to five participants can join the session, including the notary (me), signers, and witnesses. Each witness must have valid ID and be able to connect online.
Can my mom or a relative be my witness?
No. Witnesses must be neutral individuals who are not related to the signer and have no personal or financial interest in the document. Parents, children, and spouses cannot serve as witnesses.
How do I sign during online notarization?
You’ll sign electronically using a secure digital signature platform. I’ll guide you step by step to make sure everything is completed correctly and legally.
How will I receive my notarized document?
You’ll receive your notarized document by email immediately after the session, ready to print, download, or forward wherever it’s needed.
Can any notary do online notarization?
No. Only notaries who are authorized and commissioned by their state can perform online notarizations. I’m a Florida-commissioned Remote Online Notary (RON) authorized to notarize documents for clients located in the U.S. or abroad.
Does it matter where I’m located?
No. I can notarize your document no matter where you are—as long as I am physically located in Florida at the time of notarization. You can be anywhere in the U.S. or outside the country.
What types of ID can I use?
Accepted forms of identification include:
Florida or other U.S. state-issued driver’s license or ID card
U.S. passport
Foreign passport stamped by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
U.S. military ID (DD Form 2)
Veteran Health ID Card (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)
U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551)
Can I use a picture of my ID saved on my phone?
No. You must present your physical ID during the session. Online notary platforms use advanced security tools—like credential analysis and identity verification—to confirm authenticity.
What is I-Pen, and how does it work?
I-Pen is an electronic signing tool I use for in-person digital signings. You can email, mail, or fax your documents to me beforehand. I’ll upload them to my iPad so you can sign electronically—right in front of me—with immediate email delivery afterward. It’s perfect for clients who want the speed of electronic signing with the assurance of an in-person notary.
Why would I meet in person to sign electronically instead of just signing traditionally?
Sometimes, electronic signatures are preferred because they allow instant document delivery, especially when time is critical or a recipient requests digital copies. However, if you prefer to sign traditionally on paper, that option is always available.
